My prediction for the Australian Open 2012 Men’s Singles championship:
Novak Djokovic def. Roger Federer: 4–6, 7–5, 7–6 (4), 6–2.
Just putting it out there on official record.

Daedelus and I were talking about the merits of deciding the Formula One driver’s championship by awarding it to the driver with the most wins. This is not how the sport works, however. Instead a win gives a driver so many points and the driver with the most points at the end of the year is the champion. So out of curiosity I wanted to know how many seasons would have had different champions if the championship were based solely on wins.

Being a big fan of both Formula One and NASCAR, and having watched the respective races of each series yesterday almost back-to-back, I came to an opinion I want to share with my fellow F1 fans:
Formula One has boring restarts after Safety Cars.
The end of August means it’s time once again for the U.S. Open, the last of the four major Tennis tournaments a year, i.e. the Grand Slams. The tournament began on Monday, and because each Grand Slam lasts for two weeks, you can expect a dip in site updates for the duration. Especially during this first week, where early-round matches can eat up as many as twelve hours in a day. And believe me, I’m pretty glued to the television throughout that whole process, like a lobotomized vegetable. That is, when I’m not not pumping my fist and yelling, like a drunk football fan.
So while I’m on the subject, let me ask this: Why in the Hell does anyone think that Andy Murray could possible win the 2011 U.S. Open? Ok, he’s number four in the world. He’s been to the final. He’s also struggling to win his first round match against someone outside of the top fifty. I think Murray acts like a cocky cry-baby who feels like he deserves a Grand Slam when in reality he doesn’t. Probably he could beat the top three if he would stop throwing temper tantrums, or more bluntly, if he would grow the Hell up. He’s the most talented child in the world, who beats himself the minute things don’t start going his way.
But seriously, it boggles my mind that anyone picks him to win. That said, some top former pros are the people picking him, and I’m just a dumb fan; they know a lot more than I do, so there must be something I’m missing.

Yesterday was Super Bowl XLV, which was completely fucking awesome. However, the National Football League does not allow descriptions of the event without prior written consent, which I do not have. So I will describe the amazing game for you in the best way I can while adhering to their legalese.
